Protective effect of cinnamon oil against ciprofloxacin toxicity on liver and kidney of male Wistar rats

Cinnamon zeylanicum is one of many herbal medications. This herb contains different materials like, cumarin, cinnamaldehyde and cinnamic acid. The plant plays a role as antiallergic, antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory antioxidant other health conditions. study focused on the therapeutic effect cinnamon oil hepatorenal toxicity induced by ciprofloxacin in male rats. Forty rats were housed animal house College Pharmacy, University Kerbala, Karbala city, Iraq. animals separated into four groups: Group 1. Control group (not taken drug nor oil), 2. Ciprofloxacin (drenched 250 mg/kg/day for 30 days), 3. 1ml/kg/day days) 4. Cinnamon+ciprofloxacin + days). Finally, 2ml blood was collected from each rat serum estimating biochemical parameters liver Aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase(ALT) alkaline phosphatase(ALP) kidney (Creatinine, Urea albumin) . results proved that significantly elevates (p≤0.05). also benefit improving reducing toxic lowering elevated levels (liver enzymes, creatinine, urea albumin). showed this reduced liver.
